Hello RLL Families!
The Board has been busy working behind the scenes in order to get the League ready for the 2021 season. We are very excited this season is shaping up to be a mostly “normal” season because we all could use a good dose of normalcy right about now! Things are progressing quickly and we wanted to take a minute to update everyone as to where we stand.
All RLL teams in all 8 divisions have been drafted with managers/coaches in place ready to go. The Board of directors is in the process of voting on the rosters now and we anticipate the younger divisions (Soft-C, Soft-T, Rookie and Tball) will be announced early next week. Soft-A, Major, Soft-B, and Minor teams have already been released.
Practices will begin next week for Soft-A, Major, Soft-B and Minor teams. Scheduling emails have gone out notifying you of the days/times for your team practices. Soft-C and Rookie practices will begin the week of April 5th. The regular season for Soft-A, Major, Soft-B, and Minor will run from April 12 – June 3 with playoffs beginning the following week. The regular season for Soft-C, Rookie, Soft-T and TBall will run from April 19 – June 19. Uniforms are ordered and should be in prior to each team’s first game. As a reminder, players will be receiving a practice shirt as well.
Now onto the boring paperwork items. Please make sure the annual medical form is filled out and handed to your coaches. This form can be found HERE and is very important. Similar information was collected at registration, however some EMTs will not treat a child without a parent or guardian present if this form is not in hand. As a precaution, and hopefully never needed, managers must keep a completed signed copy of this medical release form with them at all RLL sanctioned team events. Please complete and provide copy to the manager/coach who must keep with them at every practice and game.
As we move through the season, each team will be assigned at least 2 dates to perform field duty at Tantum Park. For more information about field duty, please click HERE. Coaches will inform the team of your field duty dates. If you cannot make the date chosen, your team manager will help you find a date that works better for you. Field duty is one of the most important things that happens at Tantum Park throughout the season. It allows for our games to start on time and run smoothly all night. It keeps the fields well maintained all while allowing coaches to focus on the game and enhance the overall experience for players.
If you haven’t already, please also hand in your $200 work bond check to your coach. This has been a requirement in previous years as your commitment as a parent to support the kids and make our Fields & Facilities looking the best they can. We want our players to step out on to that plate or take the field and see fresh lines, groomed dirt, mounds and a safe playing environment. Bond checks are required for all players families including Managers, Coaches, Board Members and other Volunteers. The goal is not to have the checks cashed at the end of the season, but to get parents to get involved with their child and the league. If Work Duties are not properly met, we will have to cash your check. Checks should be made out toRobbinsville Little League.
The League’s COVID-19 protocols are still in place, so please take a few minutes to review current policies HERE. Please also take note of current NJ Travel Advisories that are in effect HERE, especially with Spring Break coming up soon. Our successful season without interruption is dependent on all players, parents, coaches, Board Members, officials, spectators, etc. following the rules regarding quarantining when necessary.
Our bleachers will be open this year, but all spectators are still expected to follow all Local and/or State rules on social distancing. Maintain 6’ distance at all times when sitting in the bleachers. Dugouts will be open, but at limited capacity. Players are expected to wear face coverings when in the dugout. Coaches will be wearing face covering as well.
As we inch closer to the season starting, we would like to thank all of the coaches in both softball and baseball for their dedication to our players. They make Little League both memorable and fun for the kids. We truly believe that being a part of a Little League Team shapes a player to be successful in life long after they leave our program. The coaches who volunteer countless hours of their time to ensure players have the tools they need to play the game, enjoy the game and thrive in the game are truly a critical part of the overall success of Little Leagues everywhere.
We are all looking forward to a great season and cannot wait to see our players on those fields again soon!
Thanks,
Mike Todd
